Subic Enerzone donates emergency-response gears to SBMA
Jan 17, 2019

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT – The Subic Enerzone Corporation, operator of the power distribution facility in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, donated various emergency-response equipment to the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) on Monday.

These include a rescue boat with engine, 10 flashlights, 14mm Polypropylene rope, 16mm Polypropylene rope, two heavy-duty first aid kits, 10 life vests with collars, 10 life ring buoys, and 10 pairs of rubber boots with steel toe.

Enerzone Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Dante Pollescas formally turned over the donation to the SBMA on Monday during a simple ceremony at the SBMA Law Enforcement Department (LED) office.

SBMA Chairman and Administrator Wilma T. Eisma and SBMA LED  manager Florante Tolentino received the equipment.

According to Pollescas, the donation costing P209,225 was given under the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.

Eisma thanked the utility company for its “malasakit” for the SBMA and the Subic Bay community, and added that the donation would go a long way in strengthening the capacity of emergency responders in the Subic Freeport.

Eisma stressed that SBMA responders also extend assistance in the neighboring areas of Olongapo City, Zambales and Bataan during fires, floods and other disasters and emergencies.

“So this donation from Enerzone would really go a long way,” the SBMA chief said.

Eisma also noted that the company has previously provided a similar emergency-response package and had annually contributed to the upkeep of SBMA ambulances and emergency-response vehicles.

Pollesca meanwhile said that the company has already donated identical sets of emergency gears to four barangays in Olongapo City.
