Fire Simulation Exercise
In preparation for the Fire Prevention Month, the SBMA Seaport Department successfully facilitated a Fire Drill and Safety Exercise at the Marine Terminal Port Facility, NSD Compound last February 28, 2023.
As part of the Capstone Project entitled "Strengthening Maritime Response in Port of Subic Bay thru Protocol of Engagement, Drills and Exercise", this Simulation Exercise was made possible in partnership with the Mega Subic Terminal Services Inc and the SBMA Fire Department, which aims to strengthen the collaboration between different agencies and stakeholders in responding to different emergencies inside the Port of Subic Bay.
The Fire Department also demonstrated various techniques in fire fighting to a total of 44 participants by letting them experience extinguishing the fire using a fire hose and a fire extinguisher. The company's fire brigade team and medical team was also utilized during the conduct of the said exercise.
Overall the Simulation Exercise strengthens the collaboration between government entities and private stakeholders to effective maritime emergency response.
