DISASTER RISK REDUCTION
Members of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority’s Fire Department conduct a routine checkup of fire rescue tools, including a “Jaws of Life†hydraulic power tool and power saws, at the equipment yard on Monday, Oct. 11, two days before the celebration of the International Day for Disaster Reduction, which is an opportunity to acknowledge the progress being made toward reducing disaster risks and losses in lives, livelihoods and health. This year’s celebration focuses on “International cooperation for developing countries to reduce their disaster risk and disaster losses.â€
