About Us

The Management Information Systems Department provides critical information technology support necessary to carry out the mandated functions of the SBMA.

VISION

In view of the Agency’s thrust, The MIS Department shall be the catalyst in interconnecting the SBMA and the global community in a robust and secured IT infrastructure encompassing various IT equipment, systems, mission-critical applications, approved policies and contingency plans.

MISSION

MIS Department supports the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority in its overall aims and objectives and its Strategic Business Units (SBU) in their mission-critical functions through the implementation of cost-effective, reliable and innovative ICT solutions and the provision of expert technical and systems support services.

The MIS Department is dedicated to achieving organizational excellence by synchronizing its core services with rigorous safety and environmental protocols.

Quality Commitment: We oversee the utilization of IT infrastructure based on the approved Information Systems Strategic Plan (ISSP), steadily moving toward excellence in all aspects of work and at all organizational levels.
Environmental Commitment: We protect the environment of Subic Bay Freeport by minimizing environmental impact, prevailing pollution, reducing waste, and minimizing resource consumption.
Occupational Safety & Health Commitment: We ensure a safe, healthy, and hazard-free workplace for all employees, contractors, and visitors, fostering a proactive culture of shared safety responsibility.

DIVISIONS AND ITS FUNCTIONS

The MIS Department achieves its integrated mandates through two core specialized divisions under the direction of the Department Head

Operations Division
- Operational Controls: Troubleshoots core technical challenges (virus removal, internet/email access, network connections) and configures office productivity software.
- Infrastructure & Security: Administers and maintains operating systems, databases, e-mail systems, and internet access across enterprise servers while ensuring secure and reliable network connectivity.
- Asset Lifecycles & Integrity: Performs preventive maintenance, repairs, periodic auditing, and technical evaluation/testing of deployed ICT equipment and peripherals.
- Awareness: Conducts briefings on office productivity applications and fundamentals of proper computer operations, usage, and security.

Applications Division

Life Cycle Engineering: Conduct detailed systems analyses, design, develops, tests, and implements information systems according to agency business requirements.
Documentation & Support: Prepares technical and user manuals, provides end-user training, and handles ongoing systems support.
Vendor Management: Manages outsourced information systems to guarantee timely delivery and premium quality standards.
Strategic Advisory: Evaluates and recommends commercial software packages requested by other SBMA departments/offices.
