UPDATE ON "TYPHOON CHEDENG"
According to PAG-ASA, the effect of Chedeng will be felt by Saturday in Subic Bay Freeport (SBF) as we are covered by its more than 700 km radius.


FIRST RESPONDERS

  • Central Business District: Law Enforcement Department (LED)'s Emergency and Rescue Team, Traffic, SWAT, Logistics, Harbor Patrol) Fire Department, Dispensary, SDRRMC Operations Center, and Maintenance and Transportation Department
  • Kalayaan Area: LED Detachment and Tracer,and Fire Station # 3,
  • Binictican Area: LED Detachment and Fire Station # 5
  • CUBI/Boton/Airport Area: LED, Cubi and Airport Dispensary, Fire Station # 4, and Airport Crash Fire Team
  • Naval Magazine Area: Forest Rangers
  • Locators in the coastal and forested areas who have their own disaster response and Search and Rescue teams (e.g. The Lighthouse Marina Resort, Subic Bay Yacht Club, etc) 

EVACUATION PLAN AND IMPLEMENTATION

  • Possible evac centers are identified as Subic Gym along Aguinaldo Street and Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center (SBECC), Efficiency Street, Subic Bay Gateway Park
  • HarborPoint Ayala Mall may offer its premises as possible evac area.

COMMUNITY INFORMATION DISSEMINATION

  • SBMA's radio station DWSB 89.5 shall announce advisories and information to prepare for the coming typhoon.
  • Emergency broadcast shall automatically be activated once needed and will air 24 hours to assist as conduit to responders and distressed SBF residents and visitors, including distress calls from nearby areas (Olongapo, Bataan, Zambales)
  • SDRRMC shall also coordinate with Airport, Seaport and Investment in issuing advisories to their respective clients.


ADVISORIES TO THE PUBLIC


Listen to 89.5 FM MySubic Bay Radio and/or monitor SBMA's official FaceBook pages (Subic Bay Freeport Zone and Destination Subic Bay) for updates and advisories.


SBF locators and residents:

  • Ensure that all windows and doors (particularly glass) are properly secured and padded (to avoid shattering) for the safety of building/house occupants.
  • Stock up on food and other necessities (candles, flashlights, first aid kit, etc.)
  • During the height of the storm, stay indoors. Avoid areas where trees or other debris may fall or be blown away.
  • Coastal locators should avoid venturing out into the sea. Boats/yachts/sea vessels should be secured in their docks.

SBF guests and visitors:

  • For those who are planning to travel out of Subic after the holidays, if possible travel out before the storm comes. Otherwise, please stay where you are billeted especially during the height of the storm and ride it out.
  • Avoid venturing outside. Ask assistance from the hotel/housing staff for any of your needs.
  • Stay informed and follow instructions by hotel/housing safety officers.

 

Places in SBF to be avoided by motorists:

  • Golf course road (wooded area)
  • El Kabayo (wooded area)
  • Tipo intersection/Maritan junction (flood-prone)
  • Intersection of Canal and Dewey streets (flood-prone)
